Silver Lake is about to get a new taste of an upscale sports bar soon, landing along Hyperion. The place is to be called Trophy Wife, and it could be open in a matter of weeks above Mi Corazon.

Trophy Wife comes from longtime restaurateur and real estate operator Anat Escher, the name behind many of the projects that have come and gone in Silver Lake over the years, including Barbarella and Charcoal BBQ. The ground floor of that building eventually went on to become Maré Silver Lake (now Mi Corazon) and pink-tinted bar The Friend, while the new upstairs bar will be accessible from a side street.

Firm details are still scarce on the final look and feel of the space, but expect lots of TVs and a casual drinks and bar snack vibe. There is some direct TV-watching competition across the street with Hyperion Public, but otherwise the next closest outlet for large-format sports-watching is at 33 Taps on Sunset Boulevard. Look for an opening sometime in February. In the meantime, Escher also currently runs the sports-friendly Banditos in South LA.
