Hello Kitty appears

Looks like Culver City is in for some Hello Kitty action this weekend, as the roving Sanrio truck drives into the Westfield Culver City parking lot on Saturday. The party runs 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will include sweets, swag, and more.

Honeymee’s new home

Century City is next up to get a Honeymee, the popular honey-laced soft serve shop with locations across greater Los Angeles. Toddrickallen says this latest is landing at the Westfield Century City, naturally.

Westside work

Long Beach loves whiskey

The OC Register has the inside track on all things whiskey and Long Beach, with an upcoming event at Roxanne’s Cocktail Lounge called Whiskey Wonderland. It’s going down on January 14, and will offer ten tiny tastings for drinkers at just $20 a ticket, along with live jazz and more. Up the price to $50 to get even more pours and access to the secret stuff.

Chez Melange to Sea Change

The next flip of the longtime Chez Melange space in Redondo Beach is to Sea Change, a casual seafood option turning out everything from pan-roasted Hawaiian ono in coconut curry to kung pao-style lobster. That large restaurant also holds the casual Bouzy up front, as well as The Oyster Bar.

Grill ‘Em All gets older

Alhambra favorite Grill ‘Em All, the hard-rocking burger spot that won a national food truck competition, is turning five. The celebrate the team is doing live music, $2 beers, and some of their classic burgers all day on Saturday, January 13.
