Silver Lake’s colorful new Mixed Company has closed its doors. The corner restaurant underwent an extensive build-out that took well over a year, but lasted just ten months along Sunset Boulevard.

A note taped to the front window of the space offered a bit of detail on the shutter, and the same information can now be found on the company website. It reads:

Mixed Company is closed.

The reasons are several and none of them can be summarized succinctly. We gave it a run and through it all we were fortunate to meet and work with people of the highest integrity and exceptional talent. Together we hit many of our marks; we missed some as well. We are infinitely grateful to everyone that faithfully embraced Mixed Company from the start, and we’re going to keep looking for new ways to serve our community in this location in the future...

The shutter is effective immediately, meaning bustling Silver Lake is down one more place to hang out, get coffee, and take in the scene. No word on what, if anything, will be replacing the restaurant.
