The impossible-to-miss Yellow Vase Cafe is on a serious South Bay expansion path. The bright yellow restaurant opened a new Manhattan Beach location in mid-September, another in Hermosa Beach on October 9, with a third soon slated for Torrance.
Yellow Vase Cafe is a combination of everything pretty, with cakes, pastry, breakfast/lunch, a gift shop, and even a full-service florist. The menu is a combination of daytime American, French, and Italian with paninis, quiche, brioche French toast, and crêpes.
Six openings in ten years are an impressive feat for an independent business owner. In 2008, founder Morgan Sanjar opened the first Yellow Vase Cafe in Redondo Beach, and three locations in Palos Verdes (the Western location closed on October 10). With the recent launches, that brings the total number to five.
The Manhattan Beach Yellow Vase took over the shuttered Les P’Tits Bretons and both new cafes are open daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. A Torrance Yellow Vase bakery is in the works, but it’s still too soon to announce an opening date.
