Prominent 1980s hair band Def Leppard and local brewer Elysian Brewing Company partnered to create a beer called Def Leppard Pale. Sure, it’s a promotional stunt, but it’s not a bad way to pour some love bites during the band’s international tour and at bars throughout Los Angeles.
Def Leppard Ale is a respectable combination, with British ale with Northwest hops. Fans can purchase a can on October 6 and 7 at the Forum for Def Leppard’s upcoming shows, or at any Rock and Brews, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill, Big Wang’s on Grand Avenue, Dublin’s, and El Cid starting next week. The beer is a British-style ale with Northwest hops at a 6% ABV and a classic amber tone.
“Music has been a part of Elysian since its inception,” says Elysian CEO and co-founder Joe Bisacca. “We grew up watching Def Leppard music videos in the 80s, and now, to work and brew beer together is f****** cool.”
The Def Leppard tour is a deep dive into the 1980s, with iconic ballad band Journey as the opening act. Def Leppard Pale is only available for a limited time.
