Slightly south of Silver Lake Junction is the site for a new forthcoming hotel, Silver Lake Pool & Inn. This development will bring a hotel to this surprisingly hotel-barren part of Los Angeles, along with a new restaurant named Marco Polo in 2019.
When complete, the Silver Lake Pool & Inn will house 54 hotel rooms and boast an elevated pool deck, with Marco Polo taking a decidedly coastal-Italian direction. There’s little information about who will helm the kitchen at the moment, but there are some familiar names behind the scenes.
Silver Lake Pool & Inn’s development is a partnership between Palisociety and real estate investment group, Timberlane Partners. John Chaffetz is co-founder of Timberlane, Silver Lake resident, and part-owner of Botanica with wife Heather Sperling. Avi Brosh’s Palisociety — the parent company of Palihotels and Palihouses — operates Palihouses in West Hollywood and Santa Monica.
The building was originally a motel, but converted into the Sunshine City Apartments, according to Curbed LA before developers took over. The partners tapped the Venice-based architectural firm Electric Bowery to design the hotel.
