The Trejo’s Tacos team is still in its massive expansion mode, landing a surprising new standalone stall inside the Original Farmers Market off Fairfax. The contemporary Mexican restaurant takes over the long-running (and recently shuttered) Loteria Grill stand in the middle of the market, with plans to open sometime this winter.

Actor Danny Trejo’s namesake restaurant group has continued to push for new real estate since first coming on the scene with a Mid-City location back in 2016. They’ve since expanded to Hollywood, Pasadena, and even LAX, doing everything from sit-down dining to doughnuts. At this new location, the Trejo’s team plans to do all-day service daily, offering a menu that moves from breakfast burritos to tacos to ceviche, with room for vegan options to boot.

Chef Jimmy Shaw’s Loteria Grill, on the other hand, has contracted to a singular standalone location in Hollywood after years of service across the city as well. Loteria Grill was for many years seen as one of the best stalls in the Farmers Market, even as names like Short Order, Moruno, and Ulysses Voyage came and went. Expect an opening for Trejo’s Tacos at the Original Farmers Market in a few months.
