At the library

Skid Row Coffee has officially opened its doors inside of LA’s Central Library in Downtown. The do-good shop is committed to helping bring awareness and money to those in need in Skid Row, home to America’s greatest homeless crisis. For now, expect limited hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an eventual extension to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

New programs

There’s a whole slew of new restaurant-focused programming this month at Now Serving in Chinatown. For starters, the Far East Plaza book shop will host the founders of Sprudge on Sunday in a conversation all about the history and future of coffee, with a book-signing to follow.

Friends together

Culver City staple The Wallace is turning five years young this month, and to celebrate chef Joel David Miller has brought in some of his favorite chefs from around town (Ria Dolly Barbosa, Wes Avila, and more) to cook a five-course meal for one night only.

Big meals

LA’s massive meat feast Logmeh is back. The Debbie Michail and Alex Jermasek all-outdoor Iranian cooking feast hits Hollywood on Thursday, December 6, and tickets are available now.

Butcher giveaways

Standing’s Butchery on Melrose is turning one, and to celebrate the shop is doing a big burger pop-up on Sunday, where they’ll actually be giving away 365 burgers to anyone that shows up.

Pie days

Pie season is officially upon Los Angeles, with a number of restaurants, bakeries, and standalone pie-makers selling stuff for the holidays. Check out this Thanksgiving charity pop-up from Elana Carlson and the folks behind Red Bread. Pre-order available, with pickups happening at Psychic Wines in Silver Lake.
