While Coachella’s always grabbed the big food headlines, it’s time that Stagecoach took some glory this year. Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives host and restaurateur Guy Fieri will curate a barbecue festival at the annual desert country music event that takes place at the Empire Polo Club from April 27 to 29, 2018.
The 40,000-square-foot “Stagecoach Smokehouse Experience” brings in some of the country’s most notable smoked meat experts, though none of the actual vendors have been announced just yet. Considering Fieri’s extensive travels and barbecue adventures throughout the country, the barbecue event could be one of the best collections of pitmasters assembled this year in Southern California.
Alongside Fieri’s curated barbecue vendors, Stagecoach is adding some notable LA-based barbecue spots, with Bludso’s, Barrel & Ashes, Baby Blues, and Rooftop BBQ leading the way. Big Dev’s BBQ, Dad’s Chillin & Grillin BBQ, Smokin’ Mo’s, and When Pigs Fly round out the current barbecue selection, though even more are slated to join in the coming months.
The barbecue portion of Stagecoach features a full bar and scheduled service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. throughout the three-day festival. As for the music part of Stagecoach, headliners include Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Garth Brooks, Kelsea Ballerini, and Kenny Rogers.
