It looks like Downtown’s Hotel Figueroa will be opening this weekend, just in time for the NBA All-Star Weekend festivities. After a protracted remodel that has taken longer than anticipated, the sudden arrival of the gorgeous Mediterranean property is certainly a surprise.

The rumor of an impending opening jumped all the way up to Arash Markazi, a senior ESPN writer who tweeted out a definitive statement regarding the debut earlier today, along with a few renderings of what the finished space is supposed to look like.

As it turns out, Markazi is one of a handful of select invitees heading to the property for a private event over the weekend, while the general public will have to wait until next week. A call to the hotel directly confirmed an opening date of February 19 for everyone else, which means the first opportunity potential guests will have to book and use rooms, dine at one of Casey Lane’s many new restaurants, and eye that gorgeous pool is just six days away.

And so it seems things are all systems go for one of Downtown LA’s hottest remodels, right next to L.A. Live, though not all of the food and beverage pieces will be up and running overnight. Instead, expect dinnertime Basque option Breva to come first, along with the lobby cocktail bar. The rest should arrive in quick succession, either in the coming weeks or by late spring.

The Hotel Figueroa property has long been a place for tourists, locals, and traveling show types to hang out by the pool and grab a drink, but it will all come now with new cocktails from Dushan Zaric and food from Casey Lane. There will be several different bars and dining experiences inside when all is said and done, and the party could in fact be starting up as soon as this Friday.
