Golden Road co-founder Tony Yanow’s most personal new project, Bluebird Brasserie, is almost ready for the Valley. Meanwhile, here’s a look inside the new space, slated to open within a few weeks.
Bluebird Brasserie takes over the short-lived seafood-focused Mexican restaurant Marlin & Ono, which closed overnight with almost no word. Yanow has spent a ton of personal time and money to bring this new Sherman Oaks brewpub to life, transforming the interior into a brick-rimmed room with on-site brewing capabilities and lots of taps for craft beer. There’s a full seven-barrel brewing setup right in the restaurant, with Noah Regnery (Pizza Port Brewing) handling the day-to-day duties.
As for food and drink, expect Bluebird Brasserie to carry a European vibe, with dishes like moules frites and beer cheese croquettes from overall Artisanal Brewers Collective culinary director Trevor Faris. The brewhouse will kick out a half-dozen or so Belgian-style beers at a time, and the restaurant will also carry a full liquor license for classic cocktails.
There’s no official opening date just yet for the 104-seat, Spacecraft Design-built Bluebird Brasserie, but look for something in early March. As for timing, expect lunch through late night hours daily, from noon to midnight most days and extending to 2 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
