Help out a local
The Village Bakery & Cafe in Atwater Village was the site of a Friday morning robbery, and the whole thing was caught on tape. Now the restaurant is looking for help in tracking down the masked perps who ransacked the joint. Among the items lost: Computer equipment, the restaurant’s stereo system, and the entire safe. Got a tip on who might be behind the heist? Contact The Village Bakery & Cafe directly.
Santa Monica chef shuffle
Chef Yousef Ghalaini is no longer at FIG in Santa Monica. While a replacement has not yet been named, Ghalaini is reportedly headed to Boston. Chef de cuisine Mikhail Borja will step in to fill the shoes, while Ghalaini heads to Boston to join the BNEG restaurant group.
The hot dog challenge
Over at SB Nation, one intrepid writer tried to eat every single hot dog available inside Staples Center over the course of All-Star Weekend. That included sausages from names like Wurstkuche, as well as a few in-between bites of churro along the way.
Burger Time
Silver Lake Thai wine bar Same Same is hosting a burger night on Monday, running 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The regular menu will still be available, along with the addition of a $14 burger (sirloin, smoked gouda, Thai basil) and taro root fries plate. $20 unlimited wine is also available on Monday night.

The ‘90s are alive
Beverly Hills steakhouse CUT is throwing a $300 four-course bash inside their private dining space Petite CUT tomorrow night. The evening is meant to be paired with a slew of exceedingly rare wines that all date back to 1990, hence the price tag.
Burgers are back, part two
Esters Wine Shop & Bar in Santa Monica is renewing its monthly guest chef burger series, with Jessica Largey of Simone up tonight. Expect a burger with mushroom-green jam, spicy radishes, and more this time around, plus wine from beverage director Jordan Egan. Upcoming burger names for the Esters events include Nancy Silverton and Craig Thornton.
Signage to see
The former Coffee Table space on Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock is coming to life, with signage up now for the new wood-fired pizza joint to land soon, called Piencone. Yes, there will also be cones of ice cream involved.
