Hollywood vegan hit Doomie’s Home Cookin’ is on the move, expanding into a very familiar space near downtown Culver City soon.
Doomie’s is taking over the much-maligned corner location that most recently held the short-lived Ramen Roll. That address has been a flurry of open-and-shut restaurants in recent years, but with a lack of expansive vegan comfort food in and around Culver City it’s possible that Doomie’s will be able to make a dent where others have not. The larger space will also allow for greater room to dine in during lunch and dinner, though service will still be fast casual — as in, ordering from the counter.
On the menu front, expect a lot of the classic Doomie’s vegan favorites, from their stacked vegan Big Mac take on down.
There will be more grab-and-go alternatives and a focus on truly healthy plant-based bowls and the like, but more recently the team has been toying with meat- and dairy-free Mexican food in the former Cruciferous space next door in Hollywood, so it’s possible some of those menu items could make their way to Culver City in the end as well. As for timing, look for Doomie’s to open this second location in early April.
