With an April 29 opening date coming up fast, the Los Angeles Football Club is keen to start setting up its concessions program inside its sparkling new 22,000-seat stadium south of Downtown. First up for a space at the Banc of California project? None other than Beer Belly.

Eater has confirmed with both LAFC and restaurant owner Jimmy Han that the popular Koreatown craft beer and comfort food spot is indeed stepping in to serve all the new soccer customers heading for the stadium. While chef Wes Lieberher’s menu won’t be as robust as the company’s original location off Western — or its standalone second outlet in Long Beach — the plan is to cook up Beer Belly’s famous duck fat fries, as well as a duck cheeseburger (that’s a blend of duck and bacon in one patty) and the Sriracha beast burger with crinkle cut fries inside.

There are a number of other tenants still to be named for the Banc of California stadium project, including a bunch more local talent. In the meantime the stadium is hurtling towards its springtime debut, laying grass and lining up all of the opening ceremony details in time for the LA Football Club’s inaugural season near Downtown.
