Two forthcoming hotels will bring additional dining options to Downtown. The Trinity Hotel and Hotel Clark have been under construction since 2012, and the latest word is that both will be opening in late 2018 or 2019 under the umbrella of the mega-brand Journal Hotels.

The Trinity Hotel first opened over 100 years ago in South Park, but has been completely retooled. The New York Post reports that the Trinity Hotel will showcase a new rooftop pool, a restored 2,000-seat auditorium, a 150-seat restaurant with outdoor seating, four bars, and a lounge. Grand Central Market-adjacent Hotel Clark will also have a rooftop pool, but this one will have a connected restaurant in addition to a floor-level restaurant with three bars.

Both projects have experienced lengthy delays, however. In fact, each was expected to originally open in 2016, and t=hough the Post’s article states that Hotel Clark will open in the fall of 2019, the Journal Hotel website says both will open in fall of 2018.

Trinity Hotel and Hotel Clark are owned by Jake Chetrit, who will run the hotel with Stephen Brandman, the chief executive of Journal Hotels, which also oversees properties like The Roosevelt.
