Eagle Rock’s emergent dining scene is getting a huge boost next week with the arrival of Piencone Pizzeria, Creamery, and Pub. The long-winded name shows just how much is going on inside the former Coffee Table location on Colorado Boulevard, from ice cream and pizza to beer and a kid-friendly back patio.

Piencone is the work of Michelle and Corey Wilton, the popular pair behind Eagle Rock staple Four Cafe. They’ve taken over this corner space just to the east, and the reimagined layout is truly something to behold. First up is the Melissa Ritchie-designed pizza and ice cream side, a sunny corner slip with a wood-fired oven built right in. Tall windows and mod furniture carry the look, while quick-fire pizzas and organic ice cream make for a family-friendly menu. Expect accoutrements for the pies like sausage, Bianco DiNapoli tomatoes, and vegetarian and vegan options alike. There will also be smaller snacks and starters, plus a rotation of six different ice cream flavors and a couple of sorbets.

As part of the sprawling 4,500 square foot property, diners and drinkers will also be able to tuck into a dim wood-lined bar helmed by bar manager and partner Herb Gualpa. Expect more than a dozen craft beer taps as well as kombucha, plus classic cocktails and room for wine. Meanwhile the back patio features large picnic tables, string lights, and a dedicated space for kids to play.

Piencone officially opens on Wednesday April 4, keeping daytime through dinner hours. Expect counter service during the day, transitioning to seated dinner service at night. Hours run 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, with the bar open from 4 p.m. on, including a push to 1 a.m. on weekends.
