Popular Downtown stand Chicas Tacos is expanding into Los Angeles Football Club’s upcoming Banc of California Stadium near USC, with not one but two concessions stalls.

Per the restaurant, Chicas will take over some space at both the north and south entrances. The frontages won’t be different from one another — or markedly different from their original small-footprint stand further north in Downtown — but will offer twice the capacity to sling tacos and drinks to soccer-crazed fans starting next month.

Chicas Tacos is overseen by none other than Eduardo Ruiz, the Alta California chef from acclaimed (but now shuttered) Corazon y Miel in Bell. He’s the one who put the Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico-inspired menu together for the first Chicas back in 2016, and is leading the menu charge for the new stands at the LAFC stadium as well.

As for the food itself, expect the usual slew of chicken, pork, and veggie tacos, but with the addition of a barbacoa beef taco and a few other dishes and drinks that are still be worked out in collaboration with the stadium team. As for the rest of the facility, Bludso’s has already signed on to do barbecue sandwiches and more, while Beer Belly adds burgers, fries, and sides to the mix. The Banc of California Stadium officially opens for play on April 29.
