Changes are underway at the Sofitel Los Angeles. As of April 12, Estérel will open as a casual burger and lobster pop-up called Cattle & Claw. Estérel’s interior remains the same, and will remain open for brunch daily, but Cattle & Claw plans on being open for lunch and dinner until August.
Chef Pete Manfredini, and food and beverage director Mathieu Bruno took inspiration from the London chain, Burgers & Lobsters. The menu is easy to navigate, with three types of burgers with toppings, and five lobster options, including a lobster salad, lobster roll, or the whole crustacean. For those that want to indulge in both, there are combination plates with a five ounce burger, half a lobster, fries, and a salad. As for drinks, the menu sticks with California beers, and an easy wine list.
Could Cattle & Claw become a permanent fixture at the Sofitel? The pop-up will remain open until late August, and if deemed popular enough would seem a logical replacement for Estérel. Hours are 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for lunch, and 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for dinner.
