As Los Angeles’s love of grab-and-go juice places continues to wane, lots of other, perhaps more satisfying, foods are stepping up to take the real estate. Dessert shop Wanderlust Creamery has already taken over the former Juice Served Here in Venice, and now comes word that Winston Pies has signed on to expand into the defunct juice company’s former West Third location as well.
Winston Pies already has a history of fitting into formerly more health-conscious spaces, after opening up its flagship location in Brentwood’s forgotten M Cafe last year. The company, run by owner Brianna Abrams, focuses on whole pies and pieces by the slice, as well as a slew of hand pies, small bites, and drinks. That first outlet has proven popular, so the company is branching into a new phase with an even more accessible address in the heart of thrumming West Third Street. There’s no word on an opening date just yet, but expect a relatively quick flip.
As for Juice Served Here, the company went under unceremoniously in December, basically pulling the plug and disconnecting the phones before walking off into the sunset. Most of their retail stores have since been flipped, or are in heavy negotiations for new tenants at this time.
