Beloved Fairfax restaurant The Golden State is turning nine years old this week. That’s no small feat for any place — let alone one so prominently placed along an iconic stretch of the city — and to celebrate the team is doing a series of events charity nights, and other fun things, along with the promise of giving one lucky fan free burgers for a year.
The gist of the free burger promo is that one lucky Instagram fan will be able to successfully score an actual black card that will open them up to one free burger a month for 12 months. That’s a great deal by any measure, but made all the more enticing when considering the staying power of The Golden State’s popular burgers, which have lasted through the hype and die-down of LA’s last-decade modern burger renaissance.
To enter, diners must craft a creative Instagram post about The Golden State and tag the restaurant while also using the hashtag #GState9. Ownership will pick a winner on Friday, so there’s time to get in the mix between today and last call for submissions.
Not interested in playing the social media angle? The restaurant is doing a number of offline events as well this week, from $9 all-day burgers today to Thursday’s kid-friendly promotion, where children who are nine years old get free food just for showing up. The calendar of scheduled events is below, and here’s to many more years to come.
