Locals may not know the name Paradise Dynasty yet, but they surely will soon. The Singaporean soup dumpling specialist is eyeballing a big new rollout in America, and has sights set first on establishing a foothold in the heart of Los Angeles.

Per a new Restaurant Hospitality report, Paradise Dynasty could be coming to the Los Angeles area by sometime next year. Eater reached out to confirm on timing but was told that no lease in place, though they are closing in on a potential Westside outpost not far from the beach. The giant Paradise Group company already operates Paradise Dynasty in nine different countries, and has a number of other hot pot, Sichuan, and Cantonese restaurant brands as well.

Once it opens, expect Paradise Dynasty to compete directly with Din Tai Fung for those all-important xiao long bao dollars. This newcomer makes its own mark on the genre in a few different ways, first with luxury ingredients like foie gras and truffles, and also in presentation. The company is famous for its multi-colored dumplings, still folded and steamed in full view of the dining room but in rich reds, yellows, and green wrappers. Even the restaurants themselves are more upscale affairs, with plush details and decadent menu items from across the Chinese food canon. More on this as it comes.
