Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s almost the heart of ice cream season in Los Angeles. That’s good news for Ample Hills Creamery, the Brooklyn-based ice cream artisans looking to set up shop in Los Feliz in just a few short months.

Construction has commenced at the Hillhurst location of Ample Hills, the company’s new West Coast flagship. The shop will occupy a gorgeous old Craftsman home on the corner of Hillhurst and Russell, with a lawn out front, parking in the back, and patio space galore. This former doctor’s office is being completely converted into a haven for all things ice cream, and will allow room for events, ice cream making demos, and lots of daily foot traffic. Ample Hills reps have even begun handing out small flyers with a cutesy, hand-drawn look at what the new Los Feliz location might end up shaping into:

Of course, Ample Hills Creamery didn’t come all the way to Los Angeles from the East Coast just to set up one shop and leave. Word is out that ownership is eyeballing at least one new storefront on the Westside, though nothing has been finalized on that front as of yet. In the meantime it’s starting in Los Feliz, with its soon-to-come summer patio ice cream sessions.
