Oinkster burgers

One day after announcing the shutter of its Hollywood location, The Oinkster is ready to rebound with another big Burger Week. This year’s theme is a return of some of the past classics over the eight year span, from the above black garlic burger from 2015 to Grill ‘Em All’s Pantera Burger and the one that Marc Maron helped to create in 2016. This year’s Burger Week kicks off on June 4.

Roberta’s on the move

Looks like Roberta’s is getting close to opening in Culver City, as the Brooklyn Italian spot posted a job opening for a general manager last month. Expect something later this summer.

Chicas for the summer

Downtown’s Chicas Tacos is hosting its Baja Market on June 30, featuring a ton of great chefs like Javier Plascencia, Eduardo Ruiz, Natalie Curie of El Coraloense, and tons more.

Biscuits coming

Rise Biscuits & Donuts, an East Coast chain based in North Carolina, has its sights set on Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley. In a new Fransmart expansion deal, franchises will begin to pop up across Southern California by as soon as this fall.

Luckyrice returns

There’s another Luckyrice food event landing at Vibiana in Downtown this summer. The July 26 event will feature everyone from Fat Dragon to Parks BBQ and beyond, with tickets running $150 a head (or $88 for those buying early).

Chaya is back

The new-look Chaya is back in action on the Westside today, after transitioning into a fun new izakaya. The opening menus are below, with nightly hours from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., or 11:30 p.m. on weekends.
