Cozy neighborhood spot Red Herring is on the move, landing a prime second location in the thick of Downtown, right by the bustling Whole Foods.
Red Herring is the work of husband and wife team Dave Woodall and Alexis Martin Woodall. She’s a highly-regarded television producer by day and front of house star by night, while the long-tenured Woodall runs the kitchen. Together the pair has made a charming home for themselves along Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock these past few years, working a straightforward menu of new American classics like pork chops for dinner and eggs benedict for brunch.
Now the Woodalls plan to bring much of that same menu to Grand Avenue in Downtown, opening in spring of next year at Eighth and Grand, around the corner from Bottega Louie and a few doors down from Fundamental. The 3,300 square foot space is meant to act as an anchor restaurant tenant for the mixed-use building, which means Red Herring will offer all-day service from coffee and eggs in the morning to late night post-dinner cocktails. Unlike Eagle Rock, this location will offer a full bar as well as a sidewalk patio.
Don’t expect an arrival just yet, though; reps for Red Herring say an opening in spring of next year is most likely.
