Chicago’s celebrated Girl & the Goat restaurant is coming to Los Angeles next year. The award-winning Boka Group will bring its flagship dining star to the Arts District in 2019.

Girl & the Goat is one of the most popular and influential restaurants to come out of Chicago in years. The project is helmed by star chef Stephanie Izard, an Iron Chef winner, 2011 James Beard Foundation best new chef winner, and chef of a trio of Chicago restaurants with the seemingly unstoppable Boka Restaurant Group. Just this year, Boka alone was nominated for four different James Beard Foundation Award categories, though the group ultimately came home empty-handed.

Now Izard and the team are heading to Los Angeles, landing in the tony new At Mateo development in the Arts District. She says: “I’m excited to finally have an opportunity to approach the Goat’s menu with all that California’s produce has to offer.” As for timing, expect an opening well into the summer of 2019.
