Jocelyn Ramirez is an Eastside vegan chef with a vision to bring healthy dining options to the Eastside. Ramirez founded Todo Verde, a catering company that bridges her South American and Mexican roots with vegan food. Ramirez hopes to bring a brick-and-mortar Todo Verde to fruition, and will launch a crowdsourcing campaign to fund it tomorrow.

A former college professor, Ramirez first introduced her vegan spin on Mexican and South American dishes at LA farmers markets, then launched Todo Verde catering in 2015. She operates a popular stand at Smorgasburg as well, serving healthy juices and smoothies.

The Todo Verde team launches an Indiegogo campaign to raise $50,000 tomorrow, and the funds will go towards startup costs for her Eastside cafe, including equipment, permits, and renovations. Ramirez put together some tasty perks with the fundraiser, with smoothies, vegan mac and cheese, a private food demo, or an at-home healthy visit consultation from Ramirez herself.

Ramirez made the career switch after watching family members deal with chronic health issues. The chef launched Todo Verde to advocate for healthy food access. The fundraiser starts Tuesday and ends August 3.
