Check Out La Brea’s Gorgeous New Home For Craft Beer and Dumplings

6th & La Brea restaurant opens next month

Craft beer comes to La Brea in a big way, thanks to the Artisanal Brewers Collective team behind the new 6th & La Brea. The restaurant and on-site brewery opens sometime next month, but here’s an early peek inside.

As the name suggests, 6th & La Brea opens just north of Wilshire Boulevard on La Brea, across the street from the La Brea Bakery flagship and steps from Republique. The corner property is ringed in tall glass, offering exceptional views to the work designer Melissa Ritchie completed inside. Typical for many Los Angeles restaurants now, expect blonde wood inside, along with pops of dark color, white walls, and long communal tables. But there’s still to look at, with multiple TVs for watching sports, and a soon-to-be-active actual brewery in the back.

Much like several of ABC’s other projects, this new restaurant and bar will offer the chance for hop heads to enjoy fresh beer made just a few feet away. Food comes from Rustic Canyon alum Jihee Kim, with a focus on Asian-inspired California eats. There will be vegan mushroom dumplings, fried boneless whole chicken served with sweet chili sauce, and betel leaf rolls that can be served vegan thanks to Impossible Meat fillings. As with any proper pub, it’ll serve a burger, plus a full lineup of cocktails, beer, and wine.

The long bar inside

Overall, expect 8,400 square feet of big, open bar and dining space, with room for 168 inside and another 80 out on the big patio. There’s also going to be a semi-private 25-seat lounge in the back, complete with its own dark stone bar. As for hours, expect daily service from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. most nights, with an extension to midnight Thursday through Saturday, and an opening at 9 a.m. on weekends.
