When New Zealand natives Andrew Stan Stanisich and Craig Oram dropped Two Guns Espresso into Manhattan beach in 2011, they wanted a cafe similar to ones found back home. Only seven years later and the company continues to expand with a second location in El Segundo, a North Manhattan Beach location coming in mid-July, and a large 3,400 square foot cafe in Downtown inside the PWC Building.
Only a few miles away from Two Guns’ existing stores, the El Segundo kiosk opened on June 18. The new spot is surrounded by businesses, and Mattel’s headquarters look directly onto the cafe and courtyard in an open garden setting. The kiosk is designed for grab-and-go with grain bowls, sandwiches, and pastry.
Slightly south is the North Manhattan Beach location. The 300 square foot former Kreation Juice space should be open by July 10. Stanisich hopes to appeal to the big yoga crowd in the area, and is situated just blocks away from the beach.
Stanisich and Oram’s biggest undertaking is forthcoming Two Guns in Downtown. Two Guns’ Downtown kiosk first opened in 2015, but the team just began construction in the PWC building at 601 Figueroa. Plans include a catering kitchen, an extended menu, and ample seating with an outdoor patio. World-renowned Gensler architects will design, with completion by late 2018.
Two Guns El Segundo is open Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The North Manhattan Beach location has longer hours Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
