Lovers of East Coast micro-chain Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken are in for a treat. The company is officially on the move to the Westside, opening later this year off Main Street, just up the street from Urth Caffe.

Astro Doughnuts officially arrived in Los Angeles back in April of last year, landing a prime location in the heart of Downtown. Since then they’ve been a festival circuit staple, and even launched a food truck for events and one-off stops throughout the city. Now Toddrickallen reports that the company is making for Main Street, opening up in the former home of Books and Cookies.

Despite the unassuming LLC attached to the property’s ABC license, Eater was able to confirm that the restaurant will be an Astro Doughnuts after all. That said, there could still be some plans to change things up at this new location, either in menu or decor, though that remains to be seen so far. Eater has not heard from Astro officially regarding the plans for the property.

Regardless, when Astro arrives it will immediately face some stiff nearby competition. Just blocks to the south Los Angeles doughnut hero Primo’s Donuts is opening a new location, and further beyond on Abbot Kinney is Portland trailblazer Blue Star Donuts. Luckily Astro will diversify its offerings, with a wide menu that also includes fried chicken and, at this location, alcohol.
