n/naka is one of LA’s most critically acclaimed restaurants, with placement on the Eater Essential 38,top billing in last year’s LA Weekly top restaurants list, and an episode in the first season of Netflix’s Chef’s Table. It’s widely considered a premiere kaiseki destination in America and it’s all because of founders Niki Nakayama and Carole Iida-Nakayama. They’ll be talking tonight, June 25, at NeueHouse Hollywood for a series dubbed Creative Couples from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Because Eater is a presenting partner, we’ll be offering a special link here to get access. There’s no cost, but only the first 20 or so folks who sign up can get a chance to sit with Niki and Carole and hear their stories about how n/naka came together, and how they collaborate on one of LA’s most celebrated Japanese menus. n/naka is a deeply personal venture for Niki, who trained at some of the best sushi restaurants in LA before embarking on a unique vision for a California-style kaiseki, executing the classic Japanese tasting menu experience with local and seasonal ingredients.
This panel is the chance to hear straight from two of LA’s most talented chefs, on how they work together and collaborate, and how they put together one of the city’s most remarkable, and unique, meals. One more time, pick up an RSVP (one of just a small handful) right here, first come, first served.
