High Profile Pizza Shop From Rossoblu Chef Opens Today in Fashion District

Superfine Pizza, which comes from Rossoblu and Sotto chef Steve Samson, opens today with limited hours from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Fashion District. It’ll have a limited menu as well, as it looks to serve the neighborhood and locals before reaching a wider audience. With Dama opening last week, and both Cognoscenti Coffee and Rossoblu already in high gear, the City Market South project looks a bit more complete lately.

Taking over a former eatery around the corner from Rossoblu, Superfine is Samson’s take on thin crust pizza that blends attributes from both New York and Neapolitan styles baked in an electric oven. The 18 inch pies come as slices or whole, with a slant toward seasonal ingredients, especially vegetables. Since the electric oven reaches 620 degrees, the pies can develop a crispy crust with relative ease in a short time period. The shoebox space will only accept debit or credit cards in lieu of cash to ensure a safer operation during evenings.

Prices for whole pies will start at $20 before toppings, while single slices will cost around $4 apiece. Anyone looking to try LA’s newest slice joint can check out Superfine this week during lunch hours (currently hours run Monday to Friday), with extended evening and weekend service, Ubereats delivery, and more in the works over the next few weeks.
