Former Downtown LA Chocolate Pop-Up Gains a Brick and Mortar in Culver City

Milla Chocolates hopes to open in August

Milla Chocolates, the confectionery that once held an eight-moth pop-up at the ROW in Downtown, will open its first official brick and mortar location in Culver City. Christine Sarioz, Milla’s founder, hopes the shop will debut in mid-August.

The boutique chocolaterie will have a retail area in the front with a full production facility in the back. That means guests will be able to watch the chocolate-making and confections while enjoying afternoon pick-me-ups. Coffee will come from Coffee Manufactory, with more food collaborations potentially in the works.

Sarioz, who worked in the art world in New York City for over a decade, started taking chocolate classes once she moved to Los Angeles. After learning as much as she could for three years, the entrepreneur founded Milla Chocolates out of her home, utilizing her background in the decorative arts to create visually compelling packaging with her husband and creative director, Goktug Sarioz.

The new location will likely have hours that stretch from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., making it a convenient stop for everything from morning caffeine to evening sweets.
