Raspoutine, the famous Parisian restaurant club with locations in Rome, Marrakesh, and Monaco, is taking over the Villa Lounge in West Hollywood. Stationed next door to the iconic blue Pacific Design Center, the Villa Lounge appears to still be open for business, but principals from Raspoutine are now listed on a Alcohol Beverage Control application filed on July 24.

Raspoutine originally debuted in 1965 near Champs-Élysées in Paris, and is best described as a Russian-themed supper club and nightclub. The iconic property has a long history of entertaining celebrities, including old Hollywood stars like Gary Cooper and Rita Hayworth. Since reopening in 2010, Raspoutine’s owners have begun to welcome the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Bradley Cooper.

Raspoutine’s formula is straight out of a scene from Doctor Zhivago, complete with dark red wallpaper, leather booths, and lots of vodka. Performances usually grace the stage while the audience dines on beef Stroganoff and caviar. As soon as dinner is complete, DJs take over for the dance and drink crowd.

Firm details on the flip are still scarce, but Raspoutine is certainly coming — and about a block away from fellow celebrity hotspot Catch, at that. Eater reached out to the owners, but has not heard back.
