El Tejano settled into North Hollywood in 2016 with a huge outdoor patio, bar, and a traditional Tex Mex menu, including queso, Texas-style smoked wings, nachos, tacos, and enchiladas. The second location arrives in mid-July, and this time at the former Tipsy Cow Woodland Hills.
The forthcoming El Tejano brings Texas to the Ventura Boulevard strip, with a street side patio not only for dining. The front setting should encourage envy to passersby with colorful Day of the Dead-themed walls, self-serve chips and salsa, grass, picnic tables, and corn hole game. Capacity is 120 and keeps a full bar with frozen margaritas served in an 18 ounce glass, cocktails, and plenty of beers on tap.
The team behind the Knitting Factory Entertainment hospitality group, and the founders of Big Wangs, Loaded Hollywood, and Tipsy Cow spent the last few months converting the site. The former Tipsy Cow opened in the same space in 2015, and closed last November.
