Downtown— Former Spanish tapas spot Alicante has been reopened as gastropub-sports bar Revel Public House. Look for a rotating menu of burgers, thin crust pizzas, and small plates along with an extensive Bourbon and wines-by-the-glass selection. Draft beers come courtesy of the new Palm Springs Brewing Co., a collaboration between Mason Ale Works in San Marcos and Revel’s owner Mindy Reed, who’s also behind downtown’s longstanding Zin American Bistro next door. 140 South Palm Canyon Drive

Downtown— Local beermaker La Quinta Brewing Co. has added a third Valley taproom to its expanding empire with a new storefront-with-patio location on Palm Canyon. Expect a rotating dozen of its own brews on tap along with guest handles and a smaller wine selection. The place doesn’t have a food menu but lets you order bites via iPad from eatery JusTapas upstairs and get it delivered. 301 North Palm Canyon Drive, Suite 100

South Palm Springs— In a final bit of beer news, Ace Hotel is hosting its seventh annual Craft Beer Weekend August 4 to 5. Saturday’s Craft Beer Festival has lined up 40+ breweries and includes unlimited tastings, live music, brewer chats, and small bites. There’s also a six-course beer pairing brunch with Mikkeller San Diego on Sunday. Buy passes to one or both or get them free with a room package here. They’ll also be available at the door. 701 East Palm Canyon Drive

Downtown— Rancho Mirage fast-casual spot Haus of Poke, which launched last year from former pro boxer Tim Bradley, is one of the latest tenants to take space in the massive Downtown Revitalization Project. The new location’s menu is pretty much the same as the original with customizable poke bowls, seaweed-wrapped “burritos,” and a variety of milk and Boba teas. 111 North Palm Canyon, Suite 160
