Playa Vista’s dining options keeps expanding, and this time it’s a traditional Italian eatery named Ritrovo opening on September 1. Located next to Playa Vista’s Concert Park in Silicon Beach, the new restaurant also marks the return of a familiar name in the LA restaurant and club world, Will Kirby.
Kirby was an investor in past Hollywood popular spots like the shuttered Les Deux, Geisha House, and über sportsbar Big Wangs before divesting entirely in 2010. Kirby’s partner Ivan Kodeh and his wife Deva also own Il Piccolo Tritrovo in Pacific Palisades, and Mariner’s Cafe in Marina del Rey.
Ritrovo can seat 48, and slightly more on the outside patio. The menu is simple, with a small number of seasonal Italian dishes for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch. The area has a few fast casual and full-service options just across the street at the Shops at Concert Park like Hopdoddy Burger Bar, SOL Cocina, ROC Kitchen, and the second beach-adjacent location for Hal’s Bar & Grill. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
