Downtown’s pizza and pasta game is already at basically an all-time high, and it’s only going to get better with the inbound arrival of Sixth + Mill. The long-awaited project from the Factory Kitchen and Officine Brera team will open to the public in the Arts District on August 18.
Whereas Factory Kitchen and Officine Brera definitely play to the business and (slightly more) formal crowds of Downtown and beyond, Sixth + Mill is meant to be an approachable daytime through late night spot doing pizzas and small plates like fritters, salads, pastas, and desserts. There will be room for beer and wine as well, with many of the ingredients and products imported directly from Italy. The opening menu is below.
And if that weren’t enough, there are plans to almost immediately expand Sixth + Mill out to Las Vegas, opening up inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. It’s the second such expansion for the Factory Place Hospitality Group, after it was announced in June that Factory Kitchen would take over for the shuttered B&B Ristorante, also inside The Venetian.
The imminent opening of Sixth + Mill should only further anchor the Arts District. Lupetti Pizzeria just debuted this week a few blocks up the street, and big names like Stephanie Izard’s Girl & the Goat and Jessica Largey’s Simone are both going to be up and running soon enough. In the meantime, the wait is on for August 18, with the restaurant keeping daily hours from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. or midnight.
