Brentwood Italian star Pizzana is expanding, landing a prime second location along one of the tonier stretches of Robertson Boulevard in West Hollywood.

The new Pizzana takes over for the former Ed’s Coffee Shop, a local diner legend that has survived for nearly 60 years. Ed’s will close at the end of the month, which means Pizzana will get to work on hopefully opening by the first quarter of 2019. Candace and Charles Nelson and Caroline and Chris O’Donnell remain on as partners along with celebrated chef Daniele Uditi.

The Pizzana team has been keen to expand for months now, reportedly looking at a variety of spaces around the area. Now they’ve landed right on the main upscale shopping drag for West Hollywood, around the corner from hotspots like Catch and Craig’s, though they’ll have some Italian competition with Cecconi’s so close by.

The expansion also comes on the heels of a mini pizza boom happening around Los Angeles at the moment, including new takeaway options like Superfine from Rossoblu chef Steve Samson. West Hollywood’s Pizzana will also offer takeout and delivery when it opens next year. In the meantime, enjoy the restaurant’s own social media announcement.
