Hollywood clubs

Hollywood’s upcoming H Club LA is getting close. In fact, the membership spot right on Vine has just targeted an opening date: February 9, 2019. For those unfamiliar, H Club is a London outfit (backed in part by Paul Allen) that has taken over the entire Redbury Hotel and the first-ever Cleo restaurant. When all is said and done, H Club will have three different dining areas, including a rooftop restaurant. That’s certainly good timing, as elevated outdoor dining is so hot right now in Hollywood.

No more Ronny

It looks like the Ronny Jockets event isn’t happening after all. The whimsical Melrose experiment was meant to be a warped diner pop-up playing off the Johnny Rockets theme, but now reps for the project say new leasing issues with the space have forced them to move on.

The Fuss

Hatchet Hall’s pop-up series Fuss & Feathers returns on October 11. The rustic dining experience runs $150 ($225 with drinks) and includes opening cocktails and hearty early American food cooked entirely in the wood-burning hearth. Reservations are available now.

Fullerton’s next

Orange County’s next beer-focused pub is The Pickled Monk in Fullerton. The casual spot lands next month at 101 N. Harbor Boulevard.

Yakitori eats

Hatch Yakitori has a new menu item to know about: an all-black karaage fried chicken sandwich. The brioche bun even has squid ink in it to make it black, while the chicken itself is togarashi-crusted and comes jet black.

Maximum love

Max City BBQ gets some love from Pasadena Weekly, who say the unassuming Eagle Rock barbecue spot “can be a spiritual experience.”

Brunch games

Ocean Prime in Beverly Hills has launched brunch for the first time, with a grand reveal coming this Sunday and running through October at least. Expect hours from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays out on the patio. The opening brunch menu is below.
