An Elegant New All-Day British Cafe Rises in Pacific Palisades

The Draycott opens tomorrow at Palisades Village

Farley Elliott is the Senior Editor at Eater LA and the author of Los Angeles Street Food: A History From Tamaleros to Taco Trucks. He covers restaurants in every form, from breaking news to the culture, people, and history that surrounds LA's dining landscape.

One of Palisades Village’s big new anchor tenants is almost here, as The Draycott begins welcoming locals and tourists alike starting tomorrow night in Pacific Palisades.

The Draycott is the work of Matt and Marissa Hermer, British expats turned Palisades locals who have a history of creating restaurant nightlife projects across the globe, including Eclipse bars in the UK, Istanbul, and beyond, and Bumpkin restaurants around London. Now they’re settling into a sunny new corner space, complete with lots of art on the walls, pastel touches, and room for the kids to play. Look for lots of patio space, room for private dining in the back, big booths, and a welcoming bar.

As for the food, expect California takes on some British classics, like an English pea dip or kabocha squash salad, plus sturdy mains like fish and chips and a burger. There’s a full bar for martinis and wine across both lunch and dinner, with chef Javier Ramos (formerly of Sqirl) doing breakfast and brunch down the line.

The Draycott officially opens tomorrow in Pacific Palisades, keeping dinnertime hours only right out of the gate. That means 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. daily, with lunch, brunch, and breakfast to come later. Reservations can be made now.
