Tito’s for the block
Tito’s Tacos is hosting a gigantic party on October 4 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., in conjunction with Tito’s Handmade Vodka. The afternoon event features, as expected, lots of tacos and vodka, and runs $25 a head. For that ticket price diners get to taste three different speciality cocktails as well as some Tito’s food, with live music and more happening simultaneously. All anyone has to do is show up, buy tickets at the door, and all the proceeds go to the Culver City Cultural Affairs Foundation.
Back to work
Hit restaurant A.O.C. is getting back to work as of October 1, with reservations now officially available on OpenTable. The team has created an opportunity from their unfortunate kitchen fire, using the time to update other elements of the restaurant and launch a new fall menu.
Manufacturing jobs
Want to work for one of the most anticipated new restaurants to open in Los Angeles? Downtown’s Manufactory is hiring up in a big way, with an opening to come this fall.
The heat
Wexler’s has an official go-live date for their expansion out to Palm Springs: October 9. That’s when the team will turn on the lights to their space at the Arrive hotel, doing daily breakfast and lunch from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a poolside menu that goes until 10 p.m.
$1 delicious
Gelateria Uli is doing $1 gelato scoops to celebrate the one year anniversary of their shop on West Third Street. It’s going down tomorrow only, all day long, and there’s even free coffee and pastry for anyone who can show they live in the mid-city area. 8044 West Third St., Los Angeles.
Vegas time
The NoMad bar in Las Vegas officially opens on October 12. That’s per Eater Vegas, who says this new outpost will go beyond just cocktails to offer everything from breakfast through late night eats.
Keeping the team
Go Get Em Tiger has a rather unique corporate culture, says Forbes. The publication dives deep into the background of the growing company, including their ability to retain top talent by being a fun, inclusive, and growing place to work.
Eat for good
Some of LA’s best chefs are teaming up for a charity night in Long Beach on Tuesday, with proceeds benefitting Habitat for Humanity Guatemala. The $85 meal goes down at Roe Seafood (5374 E. 2nd St.) and features bites from Vartan Abgaryan, Dakota Weiss, and more. Call the restaurant directly to reserve.
