Langer’s has been one of LA’s most iconic Jewish delis, and now one of its scions will open her own sandwich shop in West Hollywood. Dubbed Daughter’s Deli, Trisha Langer will open a restaurant with her husband at the former Poquito Mas space on Sunset Boulevard. Norm Langer released this comment on the new restaurant:
I am very proud that Trisha is following in the footsteps of my parents Al and Jean by opening her restaurant with her husband. While Daughter’s Deli has no connection to Langer’s Deli, I am sure that everyone will love it. Like our humble beginnings as a 12-seat deli over 71 years ago, to the thriving operation Langer’s Delicatessen-Restaurant is today, I am excited to watch Daughter’s Deli become another American success story.
As stated, Daughter’s Deli won’t be connected officially to Langer’s. Eater has attempted to reach out to Trisha but has not received word back on further details. Daughter’s Deli would join Greenblatt’s and Canter’s as one of the few Jewish delis (assuming Daughter’s takes on a similar menu) in West Hollywood (and environs).
Langer’s recently announced that the building it sits in was put on the market, though it’s unlikely anything would happen to the actual deli business.
