This New Cocktail Lounge Boasts Live Music and Colorful Drinks in Sherman Oaks

Rita takes over the space next to Te’Kila on Ventura Boulevard

A new cocktail lounge has taken over a space adjacent to Te’Kila in Sherman Oaks and it’s called Rita. Opened on September 1 along Ventura Boulevard, The Room Group and seasoned barman Aidan Demarest (Little Toni’s) partnered with muralist and artist TMac to totally change up the former man cave into a fun, colorful place for cocktails and live music.

The music will focus on women musicians, DJs, and singers, with large crushed ice cocktails featuring low sugar and lower ABV. The small bites menu sticks to ceviche, chips and guac, soyrizo crispy tacos, and churros all at $8 a plate. The drinks stick to likable classics like an array of mules, margaritas, and easy cocktails — no old fashioneds or negronis here. Live music runs Wednesdays and Sundays while DJs spin tunes from Thursday to Saturday. Rita opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, and 6 p.m. on Sundays, with a midnight last call. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Rita. 13817 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oaks, CA.
