Beers and Mickey

Beer behemoth Ballast Point’s new brewpub is set to open inside Downtown Disney on Wednesday, January 16. The 3,000 square foot space will feature 100 different tap lines along with a full kitchen doing lunch and dinner fare as well as a kids menu. Expect sandwiches, burgers, fish tacos, and the like, with hours from 10 a.m. to midnight daily.

Bagels past

LAist talks all things bagels in Los Angeles, angling from the East Coast history of the stuff to its newer roots in rapidly-changing parts of Los Angeles, including Silver Lake and Highland Park.

Keep it healthy

The rebranded 800 Degrees Wood-Fired Kitchen has a great Monday deal to get everyone through January. The restaurant chain’s healthy-eating “power bowls” are buy one, get one half off today and every other Monday in the month.

Brunch for good

Tlayuda LA and Girls on Food are teaming up for a give-back brunch this weekend to benefit those affected by the Camp Fire in Butte County. 50% of all the day’s brunch sales will go towards a non-profit in the region, and Girls on Food will be on-hand for further donations.

LaConversation closing

Quarter-century-old West Hollywood cafe LaConversation is closing, with multiple people telling Eater the final day of service comes just before the end of the month.

Dinner arrival

Westwood restaurant Fellow has officially launched its first dinner menu. The restaurant opened last summer doing lunch only, and is now reaching its fully-realized form, complete with a full bar for lots of cocktails. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. for the full food menus (daily), with light snacks running from there until 1 a.m. Check out the menus here.
