Hello Kitty, karaoke, and kawaii collide at Energy Bistro in Alhambra starting January 30. Patrons of the karaoke arts can look forward to Sanrio-themed foods, as well as whimsically branded rooms, at the San Gabriel Valley-based spot.
On the food menu, which is available for purchase at the bistro and inside the private karaoke rooms, are half a dozen savory and sweet items with a Sanrio twist. There’s the Hello Kitty shrimp tempura bao set or the Gudetama temaki sushi hand roll set with three different kinds of eggs — tamago, masago, and quail. The Hello Kitty chirashi box comes with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, and tamago. Most menu items include a complimentary iced tea and a fruit jelly cup. These Japanese-inspired and character-branded offerings are sure to appeal to old and young alike in the neighborhood.
Of the eight newly branded rooms, three will be dedicated to Hello Kitty including the Hello Kitty Sky Room, the Hello Kitty Bakery Room, and the Hello Kitty Supercute Room. Additional spaces are decorated with beloved Sanrio characters like My Melody, Gudetama, and Little Twin Stars. The rooms can accommodate small and large groups of up to 40 people. Energy Bistro’s Hacienda Heights location has a similar Sanrio collaboration.
Hours are Monday through Thursday 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sundays from 2:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. Guests can book their karaoke reservations online through the company’s website at www.energykaraokeus.com.
