Famous Arizona chef Chris Bianco is opening an outpost of his world-renowned restaurant Pizzeria Bianco in Los Angeles. The Italian restaurant will open at the Row in Downtown in a matter of weeks, taking over the closed (as of today) Tartine Bianco space at the Manufactory.

Rumors of a Pizzeria Bianco have swirled around Los Angeles for years, even before Bianco partnered up with Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson from Tartine to open the Manufactory at the Row. Bianco is a world-renowned pizza maker who counts many celebrities as friends including Jimmy Kimmel, and he has been doing charity events and private dinners in the city for years. In Arizona, Bianco oversees a number of Bianco-branded restaurants and Tratto locations, and has been praised nationally for his food by everyone from Oprah to the James Beard Foundation. This will be the first Pizzeria Bianco outside of Arizona.

The arrival of Pizzeria Bianco to the Row means that Tartine Bianco, the more casual market-adjacent side of the Manufactory building, is now formally closed. Don’t expect an overnight flip, though; the move is expected to happen “in the upcoming weeks,” per a rep for Bianco when confirming the news with Eater. Tartine will continue to make bread at the property and supply bread and pastries for Pizzeria Bianco, and the marketplace and grab and go areas will continue as well. Sister restaurant Alameda Supper Club, which is also run in partnership with Bianco and Robertson, will also remain at the other end of the building.

Meanwhile, the Row continues to ebb and flow with its various culinary offerings. The Manufactory scaled back its hours earlier this year as more competition has come into the six-building multi-acre Runyon Group development, including a small Go Get Em Tiger cafe that serves coffee and food. Across the way, celebrated San Francisco chef Melissa Perello will open her large new corner restaurant M.Georgina tomorrow night.
