La Brea’s busy restaurant row has another casual new entrant to know about named Berkshire House, from the owners of Valley staples the Woodman in Sherman Oaks, and Jalapeño Pete’s in Studio City.
Berkshire House, which opened last month at 143 N. La Brea in the former Amalfi space, is meant to be a super neighborhood-y hangout for watching sports, lounging with friends, or catching a post-work happy hour. The large, open space offers a long bar, more communal bartop seating, near wraparound television screens even in the dining area, and a comfortably plush lounge area.
As for the food, Berkshire House works a menu of everything from New York City-style pizzas to sandwiches, wings, and other basic pub fare. The restaurant and bar joins the likes of places such as 6th and La Brea nearby, which also appeals to the sports-watching weekend and after work crowds. Further south is the upcoming Met Him at a Bar Italian restaurant, while right on the same block is the soon-to-open Burgers 99 from the Badmaash team.
Berkshire House is now open, keeping daily hours from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. weekdays, extending to 10 a.m. on Saturdays and 9 a.m. on Sundays.
