It looks like Harold’s Chicken, a new West Coast location of the famous Southside Chicago chain Harold’s Chicken Shack, is finally ready to open in Hollywood. The long-awaited restaurant is hosting an opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony this coming Friday, with plans for a number of Chicago celebrities (including Kanye West) to be in attendance.

Harold’s Chicken first announced its plans to open in Hollywood way back in 2017, and even did some light cooking earlier this summer for in-the-know folks in the Hollywood area. Otherwise it’s been a mostly quiet couple of years, with fans familiar with the Chicago chain clamoring for updates on the space via social media. Now it seems the time has come.

As for the Harold’s Chicken space, expect a casual environment with red booth seating, a long marble bar, and televisions giving off a sports bar vibe. The food should stick to the famous Harold’s repertoire, including fried chicken and fish dinners and chicken buckets, offered with the company’s signature sauces.

Diners may not be able to get elbow-to-elbow with the celebrities slated to attend, but they can make reservations for a guaranteed spot inside starting at 8 p.m. on Friday night. Harold’s Chicken will keep hours from noon to midnight daily, with an expansion to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Update: A previous version of this post indicated that it was a franchise location; the restaurant is corporate owned.
