Gone for now

The El Segundo location of Superba Food + Bread is closing after four years. A tipster says the restaurant’s final day of service will be November 30, as the company continues to focus on its existing various outlets in Venice, Pasadena, and North Hollywood.

And another

Meanwhile up on Melrose, Point Five Espresso Bar has also closed, per a source. The company’s website and social channels are down, and Google is listing them as kaput.

A real coffee party

It’s Thanksgiving pop-up time at Go Get Em Tiger in Los Feliz. Every year the company does its own take on some of those corporate chains’ most sugary creations, from eggnog or gingerbread lattes to loads of pumpkin spice. The event runs Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; expect a line.

All in stride

A new spot called Strada Eateria and Bar has taken over the former Casa Nostra near the Pantry at 825 W. 9th Street.

Meat deals

Culver City’s Maple Block Meat Co. is doing a slew of Black Friday deals, including $5-per-pound brisket (from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.) and $5 breakfast burritos, offered from 10 a.m. to noon.

Love the local places

LAist has a new ode out on a classic restaurant. This time it’s Lynwood pizza stop Chico’s Pizza, which still offers serious ‘80s pizza parlor and video game vibes.

What Phil keeps having

Prolific eater Phil Rosenthal’s busy Youtube channel is back with another local dining episode, this time focusing on the food from Yang’s Kitchen.
