Her car is in bad shape, but the series of chicken sandwich-related events were unfortunate

Popeyes chicken sandwich madness has taken over the country, and no city is immune. As the popular fried chicken sandwich made its return this week, a woman heavily damaged the side of her car at the Popeyes drive-thru on La Brea and Jefferson in Los Angeles.

This incident took place on Tuesday in the neighborhood of West Adams. The busy fast food restaurant maintains two drive-thru lines that merge into one before approaching the order window. Everything was fine until a woman in a light grey Mercedes-Benz accidentally drove the passenger side of her car into a yellow barrier as bystanders watched and heckled. An Instagrammer by the name of famousboi.d caught the entire moment on video. (Warning: there’s profane yet entertaining language in the video.)

According to famousboi.d, high school kids lingered around the drive-thru area. The heckling began when the driver kept scraping her car into the barriers and damaging the car. Famousboi.d also noted that the woman in the Mercedes later drove away out of embarrassment, while the crowds furthered her humiliation by throwing cups, soda, and water at the exiting car.

The Root incorrectly reported that the driver cut in line, but famousboi.d tells Eater that the Mercedes driver was not cutting the line — she was simply merging into the drive-thru from one of the two lanes. While this incident might seem entertaining, it’s a tragic reminder of how mobs can create a frenzy. As Popeyes employees work overtime to manage demanding customers, bad behavior is running rampant. A man was stabbed to death this week after cutting in line at a Maryland Popeyes. The LA Popeyes incident didn’t stop there. The video cuts off before showing a near altercation between the scraped car passenger and another individual.
